Aletheia’s mission is this: That our community and world would know and experience the love of Christ.
For 8 weeks in January and February, 2019, we are going to take a critical look at some of the most profound ways this mission is lived out in the life of our church (meaning, in all of our lives). What we ought to be mindful of is that Christ’s love is neither dormant nor disconnected.
2 Corinthians 5:14 actually tells us that “The love of Christ compels us!”
What this means is that Jesus’ love propels us (the literal word in the Greek means “to squeeze”) towards loving action. Jesus’ love actually leads us to find abundant life in loving ourselves less and loving God and others more. Christ’s love changes the way we think about and engage the world around us.
