advent 2019
what is advent?
Advent is designed to prepare us for the celebration of Jesus’ birth. To celebrate advent is to celebrate the hope of redemption; the hope that first came in the form of a baby - a baby who would forever change the world. His name is Jesus! In order to align our head and hearts for the celebration of our Savior’s birth, we have Advent materials for you. The materials are provided below to download.
The following Advent material will be handed out after service on Sunday, November 24 and Sunday, December 1.

Family advent guide
This Family Advent Guide is designed to serve you and your family in coming together to celebrate Jesus. This guide is outlined into 4 themed sections, with 25 days of reading beginning on Sunday, December 1 and ending on Christmas day. Each week includes a verse or a small section of Scripture to read together, a guiding question to help think about the passage, a short explanation and application section, as well as prayer. There is also a kid question added to each day to help engage in discussion with your child(ren) who are filling out their Kid’s Advent Guide.
Kid’s advent guide
This Advent Guide is designed for children kindergarten and up. There is space for your child(ren) to color as you read the scripture of the day from the Family Advent Guide. There is an icon for every day in the Kid’s Advent Guide to give a clue as to what the reading is about. There is also a question in the Kid’s Advent Guide to initiate discussion as a family. The same question is in the Family Advent Guide.
Calendar
This calendar of December 1 through December 25 has specific readings that lead up to the birth of Christ. The readings in black are in the Storybook Bible (toddlers and preschoolers) and the other readings in red are from the Family Advent Guide (Kindergarten and up).
The calendar comes with stickers of activity prompts. There are stickers with activity prompts for the calendar. Activity prompts like ‘make an ornament for the tree’ and ‘wrap Christmas gifts’. Place the activity prompt sticker on the day your family decides to do the activity. If you need a copy of these, please email info@aletheiatampa.com.
