Summer at Aletheia

Aletheia Church Family,

As we step into the summer months, I want to encourage us as a church not to drift spiritually in a season when it can be easy to slow down in all the wrong ways.

Summer often brings a different rhythm. Schedules change. Travel picks up. Life feels a little less structured. And while rest is a gift from God, discipleship is never something we are meant to put on pause.

At Aletheia, our vision remains the same: To see a greater worship of Jesus through disciple making and church planting.

My prayer is that this summer would not be a season where we take a step back, but a season where we move toward Jesus with greater intentionality; in our homes, in our church, and in our city.

A big summer in the life of our church.

Church Planting

This June, we have the joy of welcoming Sage and Mariah Rodrigo and their four children as they begin settling into the life of Aletheia. Sage will be preparing to lead the planting of Stone Church in the fall of 2027, and this summer gives us the opportunity to begin praying, serving, and rallying around what God is beginning to build through this next church plant.

One very tangible way to serve this next church plant and the Rodrigo family is by bringing meals and Stocking their Shelves! As a church, we’d love to help stock their pantry shelves and provide meals during their transition. There are two ways to serve:

  1. Sign up to bring a meal

  2. Donate pantry staples and non-perishable items

Pantry items can be brought to church on June 7.

Church planting has always been part of who we are, because we believe more churches mean more people worshiping Jesus.

Our Discipleship Pathways: The 4 C’s

This summer, I want to encourage every person in our church to stay engaged in the pathways we have built for spiritual growth.

1. Corporate Gatherings

Fight for Sundays. Summer can make it easy to become casual about gathering, but worshiping together each week shapes our hearts in ways we often do not realize until we neglect it. Let’s be a church that protects Sunday worship as a priority, not an afterthought.

2. Community

While our City Groups will be on summer break, biblical community does not stop. Use this season to pursue intentional relationships and stay connected to the body.

3. Cohorts

This summer, one of the best ways to grow is by stepping into a Discipleship Cohort.  If you have not joined one yet, this is the summer to do it.

4. Classes

In June we will launch a Leadership Development Class with somewhere around 30 current and future leaders, creating space for those who aim to grow deeper in theology, hermeneutics, and who desire to learn more about becoming teachers of God’s Word.

For Our Kids & Teens

VBS | JUNE 8-11

For children ages 4 years old through 5th grade, Vacation Bible School will be an incredible week of helping our children know and treasure Jesus. Invite a friend!

For students in 6th–12th grade, our youth retreat will be a focused time of worship, teaching, and spiritual formation. Details here.

Parents, this is more than just keeping kids busy. These are moments that can shape hearts for years to come.

Seeing Jesus Together

This summer, stay rooted in daily rhythms with our church Bible reading plan: Seeing Jesus Together

Continue pursuing: daily Scripture reading, prayer, journaling, reflection alone, as well as with others in our discipleship cohorts. Even when routines change, abiding in Jesus must remain central.

At Aletheia, we believe discipleship begins at home. That's why we've created the Summer Bible Reading Guide for Kids and the Summer Bible Reading Guide for Teens to help your entire family build rhythms of reading and responding to God's Word together this summer. Parents, no one has a greater influence on your child's spiritual growth than you. The church is here to support and encourage you, but the primary place of discipleship is the home. We hope these resources serve as a helpful tool as your family grows together in God's Word.

Aletheia Jr. Summer Bible Reading Guide

This Summer Bible Reading Guide is designed to help families not only read the Bible, but also learn how to study it faithfully and thoughtfully together. Teleios [middle & high school] Summer Bible Reading Guide

The Summer Bible Reading Guide for teens is designed to help students build a daily habit of spending time with God in His Word. Inside, you'll find the Seeing Jesus Together daily Bible reading plan, a printable journal page modeled after the Seeing Jesus Together Journal, guided reflection and prayer prompts, and an Attributes of God reference sheet. These resources are intended to help middle & high school students read Scripture carefully, understand it more deeply, and respond to what God is teaching them as they grow in your knowledge of God and love for Jesus this summer.

Summer Worship Playlist

One Simple Challenge

As we begin this summer, I want to ask every person in our church one question: What would it look like for you to see a greater worship of Jesus in your life this summer?

Maybe that means: recommitting to Sundays, joining a cohort, leading your family spiritually, staying consistent in Scripture, serving more intentionally, praying for our next church plant.

Whatever it is, do not waste this summer.

Rest well. Slow down where needed. Enjoy your family. Make memories. But do not take a summer off from following Jesus. Let’s pursue Him together.

Humbly,
Pastor Aaron
